About Weekend for Warriors

Weekend for Warriors is a four-day long excursion provided to four local combat veterans. Throughout the course of the weekend, our honorees will participate in various outdoor excursions throughout Dutchess County, New York. Our honorees are carefully selected by our committee and demonstrate courage and commitment to not only their country, but also their community.

Since 2016, our Weekend for Warriors event has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local veteran charitable groups. With that money we were able to provide college scholarships, postage for many care boxes to local troops deployed overseas, equine assisted PTSD therapy, as well as a much-needed financial assistance for veterans throughout the region.

In 2018, Weekend for Warriors established a formal partnership with the MHA of Dutchess County’s Veterans Programs. Services include:

Peer-to-Peer Counseling
Support groups and social events
Suicide Prevention
Recovery Support

We are more excited than ever to be back for our 2025 Weekend for Warriors event and banquet! We hope that you will join us at our banquet that will held at Mahoney’s Irish Pub in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 5^th, 2025 from 4-6pm to celebrate our four local Combat Veteran Honorees for their service and sacrifice to our nation.
